RE: Mark Twain Estimates- design team member contact Hey John, the only figure i need now is from the design team, can you please shoot me the name and number of who in that department we can ask Val's questions to about the possible cost of set and light design- thanks!
The Goodman Theater wrote to Kimberly Katz:
Kimberly –
Attached, please find a direct cost estimate.  Please note that this is a preliminary figure that could vary drastically depending upon the design of Mr. Kilmer’s physical production (sets, lights, props, costumes, sounds, projections, etc).  As you requested, the estimate reflects a four-week run with eight performances per week.
I can offer you a weekly rental fee of $XX,000.  This includes all ticketing, front of house, security, facility/custodial expenses.  To be clear, the weekly rental fee is in addition to your direct production costs.
I’m still waiting for a final decision from the other producer considering the space.  I will let you know as soon as I hear.
Please feel free to call with any questions you may have.  Thanks again for your patience as we put this together.
All Best,
John

IS THE 40 grand the cost to "get into" the theater. this doesn't seem to be too high.
My production costs will be very low.

Lots to digest. I certainly appreciate what you have wheeled and sealed so far and
never assumed since it's not what you do, that you WOULD negociate for me. I didn't
really catch if u mentioned it before that you have saved me the fees you mentioned.
But
I'm certainly interested in paying you something to follow thru with getting my one man
show going- it needs no saying that this is 100% your enthusiasm re all these thwarted
options.

Chicago was on my short list to start and I may actually need to start work shopping
it a couple o places befor in smaller venues but heck... What have u got in mind?
Part time I assume. Can't have legal issues and I can afford much...

Val Kilmer to Kimberly Katz ;Happy happy happy happy happy happy birthday my Angel...

I'd like to skip ahead a few weeks. I was still reeling from the events that had occurred in the 48 hours before I was to close the Goodman deal.

Ken and I were celebrating my 46th birthday by eating at Jack's on Halsted, one of my favorite restaurants and then seeing a play opening night at Steppenwolf Theater.

Val had said he would call about what happened with the Goodman but hadn't for a few weeks and I was sure he didn't know it was my birthday so sent him a text message.
